If the plot demands it, then yes he can.

A 30-year-old Maccabi Tel Aviv fan describes the moments of horror: "I finished a four-month reserve in Gaza, and what I experienced here is no less scary. There is a war out here. They ran over me and pulled a knife on me. I am slightly injured, but I am not ready to receive treatment here, only in Israel. We were ambushed. I'm in the market. I saw with my own eyes children who were caught in explosions. They are everywhere. No police, complete chaos. Everything was pre-planned. The police here abandoned us. Every fourth person walking the street is a Muslim who has come to attack Jews. Me and several hundred other fans are surrounded in the hotel, the police don't allow us to leave. They just want to fly home."

Wonder what he did in those 4 months. I bet you it was a lot worse than what he got here.

I love libraries. I used to spend a lot of time in them when I was a kid. I still have my 16 digit library card number from when I was a kid memorized.

I did not know that .world was made by a Dutch person. Thanks for teaching me something new.

.world seems to have been the default instance people went to when they left reddit. It's more or less than mentality imported into Lemmy. This led to the fact that creating a US specific instance is not necessary. .world fills that niche enough.

.world is more or less an American instance in all but name.

Harris went too far right in an attempt to court the Republican vote. She preached peace in Gaza but she campaigned with known war-hawk Liz Cheney and staunchly defended Israel. She said she's going to stand up against big businesses and help the environment but she talked about having Republicans in her cabinets and not ban fracking. She campaigned on being tough on the border but expected immigrants to vote for her. She did a lot of stupid shit and no one wanted to pay attention because everyone was scared of criticizing her because of their fear of Trump. They literally ran on a "moderate" platform when campaigning against a far right fascist wanna-be dictator. This should have been a slam dunk victory for them.

Democrats need to get their head of their asses and actually have progressives run. Until then, all they will do is slide more and more to the right and disenfranchise more of their constituents who want their society to progress and not cater to the radicals.

Supporting Israel was the unpopular opinion. Over 2/3rds of Americans supported enforcing a ceasefire, 80% of Democrats did. They didn't do it for the popular vote. They did it for political convenience and foreign lobbying.

The compassion of a vast majority of Americans doesn't mean shit when their tax dollars are funding a genocide.

They lost the election because they failed to listen to their voters. This failure is a failure of the DNC and the overall Democratic party. Full stop.

Attitudes like that is why Democrats lost the Arab vote, which made them lose swing states like Michigan. Israel is currently undertaking an extermination campaign in Northern Gaza, openly saying they want to settle Northen Gaza, killing civilians in West Jerusalem as well as demolishing homes, invading Lebanon, and trying to start a regional war with Iran. Trump didn't do that, Biden did. Saying it's going to get worse under Trump is meaningless when terror attacks and civilians are being slaughtered with impunity. A genocide is a genocide. Whether one is slower or faster makes little difference.

Its already been happening. Just look at what's happening in northern Gaza.

Probably now. It's not Iike Biden did anything to stop them either.

He's 100% correct. This failure is a failure of the DNC to actually pay attention to what the voters want.
