The balls, sigh

Those situations really aren't comparable...
You can't justifiably refuse to treat people begging for help just because you're jaded, that's how you get people killed. Medical care is meant to involve empathetic support, not suspicion and accusations at every turn.
It's fine to be on the look out for people lying, but you can't assume everyone is the second you meet them, that's literally the opposite of what a doctor is meant to do.
I'd be willing to bet you do more digging to find out what's actually going on than many doctors do, who will just show you the door instead of taking you seriously.
Got me thinking again about how many people in medicine assume you're lying all the time, is this projection? Are doctors constantly lying so they assume everyone else is? Why is it so hard to just believe people, jfc...
I'm so goddamn sick of having to fight a system that's meant to support me...
I don't know if it's the worst or best I've ever seen, but Sonichu
Ah my favourite AJJ quote: "Hope is for presidents and dreams are for people who are sleeping"
That's the best part, you have way more timelines where you aren't the MC so there's basically a 0% chance you're in one now.
It's wild to me that corporations and governments can hold hands and be openly evil together, and people still think we can somehow regulate our way out of this, as if the last few decades of trying isn't enough of an indication that it's never going to happen.
Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware of what the dairy industry does and I do not support it, just that sometimes I'm able to get my hands on some from dumpster diving. I still feel highly conflicted about it, but telling myself that I have this one option has allowed me to stick to otherwise being vegan far better than in the past, even if I've only ever had the chance twice in the last 12 months.
I'm still relatively new to veganism, so it's something that I'm working on.
Judging from the other comments it's not for everyone, but personally I love my Wednesdays off. For me it's mostly about dealing with accumulated fatigue due to a health condition though, and I definitely agree about the errands. When I have lots of medical appointments they're so easy to schedule lol
I'll admit, cheese is a weak point for me. It's the only thing I'll accept being freegan for.
That said, I've been enjoying making vegan cheese sauces lately. When you don't have to saturate a block of starch with fake cheddar flavour, you can actually make some really delicious stuff at home.
Didn't seem to doesn't necessarily mean it didn't happen, it can be difficult to quantify. Most people don't notice a lot of the constant large scale ecological devastation that does happen.
The real concern is that even if it was fine in one location, that can't reliably be assumed to be the case for other ecosystems. This issue is really complicated, we've acted hastily in the past and done some insane lasting damage so I'd say it's best to be careful.
All that said, even if I'm vegan and this whole thing makes me extremely uncomfortable, working to eradicate malaria is objectively good.
