In my town there is usually a long drive thru line for Raising Canes, but it snakes around the parking lot rather than the stroad. The few times I go there I park, walk in, and walk out with my food before the person who would have been ahead of me at the drive thru has even ordered.

I was going to mention postmarketos if they really wanted to dive headfirst into the degoogled life, lol

I am currently reading a collection of short stories titled Lake of Souls by Ann Leckie.

They’re all in the sci-fi genre, and they have been pretty interesting so far.

I’m not OP, or a mod, but I shall say yes!

Nitrux is the only thing keeping me sane in this world and I’m still here waiting for my return and the next time I’ll be able to buy the new one

Alt text. A picture of Bane lifting Batman in the air. Top text reads “Me: Trying not to use words I painstakingly learned in college to make a document accessible.” Bottom text reads “Readability tool: Victory has defeated you.”

I honestly went into the post just to make sure my eyes were not deceiving me. It’s very good news indeed!

So not even any consideration of voting 3rd party? The concept that voting 3rd party is throwing away your vote is perpetuated by the 2 parties that want to stay in power. It’s easier to focus on one opponent, but the more people become comfortable with other options, the harder it is for the 2 parties to bullshit their way into power.

I don't think google wants to get hit with another antitrust lawsuit for web browsing, so I am sure they will figure out some other deal to funnel money to Firefox

I wonder if he made a big deal when Battlestar Galactica did it for their promo poster:

I don't live in the snow so never tried in real life, but local laws usually classify different levels of two wheeled vehicles. Some laws treat level 2 and under, where most e-bikes are, the same as bicycles. Mopeds and motor-driven cycles are a level above that are allowed on surface streets the same as cars but too underpowered for the highway. Then the level above that is the traditional motorcycle that are allowed on streets and highways.

tl;dr, it might be allowed for e-bikes to have studded tires depending on how local laws classify it.

Mathematically they're equivalent, but the feelings could not be further apart.

This book was compelling to read not because of any sense of mystery, of which there is some, but because I wanted to learn more about what the characters were thinking as the author cycled through all their different perspectives.

It is a good read for those that enjoy young adult novels with a good balance of comedy, drama, and discussing some heavy subjects.

I hate hearing (middle-class or wealthy) people say how much opportunity there is to make money in recessions. All it does is increase the wealth gap when already wealthy investors buy up houses and other assets and literally lord it over the lower income population. I like how this program from a U.S. city government is trying to open home-ownership to it's citizens.

I came across this the other day and thought if anyone else besides me takes these promises to plant trees or some other carbon capture method with a grain of salt.

As a search engine it acts as a proxy for Bing and then uses Open Street Maps when looking up addresses, so it adds a dash of privacy.
