I have to agree. It seems like media in general is trying to get as many views/ clicks as possible and sadly negative information tends to garner more attention.

In addition to ignoring the news, it also helps to sift through what type of content we consume.

But personally, I found that a key factor is balance - being physically active, while constraining media time down to an hour or less. I don't just mean exercise here, but rather anything physical, like doing the dishes or doing a puzzle as a hobby.

Anything analogue can clear your mind and improve your general mood.

Come to think of it, I agree. Regarding the experiment with eggs, I distinctly remember the soda laden egg being submerged in the liquid for 24/7, where as the other egg received water and toothpaste. Perhaps a more accurate and interesting experiment would be to wash the tooth with soda and every morning/ evening wash it with toothpaste? Theoretically this can still show how important brushing is, if toothpaste really helps combat the acids from cola.

One of the most infamous experiments is submerging the tooth in cola, to show the importance of brushing. In primary school, it was done on white eggs though, but using a tooth would be more authentic. Ironically, while the tooth should completely rot in cola, the liquid is perfect for washing household things (the sink or a toilet bowl for example).

There's a downside to this though. Of course I still wouldn't snitch, as that's a problem of social security, not necessarily the fault of said person. However, the increase of "urban foraging" has made some shops decide to completely close their business, as it isn't profitable anymore. It has created a phenomena called "Food Deserts", which literally means that there's no proper grocery stores for miles in a town.

Weirdly enough, that's kind of how I found out I had tinnitus. I had my headphones on and got bothered with the high pitch static sound, but when I went to unplug it, I found it wasn't even connected to any device.

One of the apps is Luma for example. It claims it supports 3D scanning on iPhone 11 or newer devices, but doesn't mention that SE 2 is an exception.

I know that SE2 is a budget device, but I guess I naively thought that it having an iPhone 11 chip and the newest OS could be enough.

Begging I presume. I don't know how it is in the States, but here in Europe there's a solid enough support system that there's no need to beg for cash.

Thanks for the explanation! Although I think the reason why the situation is the way the comic is portraying, is that Russia is a direct threat to Europe / the western world, which is why it gets that much attention.

Hmm, perhaps you're right. When it comes to explaining the fediverse itself, that's definitely a no-go. I figured it's just visually easier to grasp it when thinking of Discord.

Personally I found that thinking of Lemmy as a bunch of Discord servers really helped. Both have servers and "channels" inside them. Perhaps "The office" meme of "Corporate wants you to find the difference" would be fitting?
