My cashmere sweater from Nadaam. I have several and they're comfy, stylish, and super warm. Their OG sweater (of which I own 3) are under $100, but the one I'm talking about is a recycled cashmere (made from leftovers of other products) which is thick and soft and fuckin amazing

I've kinda wanted to firebomb EA and Bioware offices for the shit they've put my partner through lol. She so desperately wanted DA4 to be a good CRPG, or at least follow close to Inquisition and carry on the story.

The Veilguard has shown none of that and every time something new for that shit show gets shown, I worry she's going to cry.

There are electors for every senate seat. This gives disproportionate power to the small pop. states (which go R most of the time) so Dems are basically always working with a ~30 vote deficit in the electoral college.

The senate is an undemocratic institution meant to protect the wealth. Abolish the senate.

It's not as much violent but Weaveworld by Clive Barker is in that dark fantasy vein, very good, very long.

Also dark, kinda cosmic, very good, is Imajica, also by Clive Barker. It's almost 900 pages tho so you've been warned.

I came here to recommend The First Law trilogy. It's the definition of gritty

They don't fix it but they're good. Really enjoyed Best Served Cold.

The Gentleman Bastard sequence is fantastic, Lies of Locke Lamora hooked me so hard. Can't wait for the other 4 books. Highly recommend it.

Leaves from the Vine is the most "try not to cry, cry a lot" moment in any show for me.

Well the dude is English, he'd probably apologize to the knife for being in the way and the stabber for bleeding on their shoes.

The old addage is "nobody wins a knife fight". Only solution is to disarm them and you are 99% going to get cut. Just gotta believe you won't get cut bad enough to stop you from stopping them

I seriously cannot have any degree of nuanced conversation here.

Like I get it, we all know capitalism is bad, but it feels like every time I or anyone go towards discussing the steps that need to be taken to address current looming problems in the short term, someone has to jump in and shut it down with "capitalism bad >:[ " and tear down any idea presented because its not complete and total destruction of the current economic model.

The result just feels like an echo chamber where no actual solutions get presented other than someone posting whole ass dissertations on their 33-step (where 30/33 steps are about as vague as "we'll just handle it") plan to fully convert the world to an anarchist commune.

Edit: I still vastly prefer Lemmy and the fediverse and a whole, my complaint here is that many of you are TOO INTENSE. You blow up small scale discussion.
