No. She lost because a massive Russian and US-fascist campaign corrupted the state of the media until people couldn’t tell up from down.

“I care so much about the Palestinian people that I have no choice but to become ‘unexcited’ about the only candidate of the two who doesn’t actively want Netanyahu to exterminate them even harder” is yet another example of the nonsense-logic they managed to get into the conversation. If Biden had been taking a hard line on weapons shipments, the big catastrophe about the left candidate would have been something else. I can almost guarantee it.

Edit: Just in case I need to clarify what meaning I take from this, I think this person has diarrhea where her brain should be. How can you blame Kamala Harris for not “taking a firm stand” when you won’t even take a firm stand on whether or not the US should become Nazi Germany? When it would have cost you nothing at all?

Even if you don’t watch the news or anything, you were there for 2016-2020.

Edit2: I thought about it a little bit more, and I don't think that anymore. I think this person is made up. 0.4% of the voters picked Jill Stein in North Carolina. I doubt much more than that know who she is. I don't know what percentage of those 0.4% thought about picking Jill Stein but then decided to leave the ballot blank, but it's probably even smaller. I think it's pretty unlikely that The Intercept happened to pick this person out of the 248+ they would have had to go over in order to find that voter, and asked her only to coincidentally have her spout this perfect narrative. It's too neat. Maybe it's true, and they just found the perfect victim who could articulate the narrative in perfect form, but I'm skeptical.

And then this guy is over here with "Well aktually espresso is totally different from drip coffee and so this totally unrelated thing Wikipedia was saying is all wrong I'm so smart."

I think Lemmy needs some kind of daily "smart person contest" to draw off the energy that otherwise gets spent on trying to find someone to prove wrong in the comments at the expense of everything else. Lord knows, I need one of those too.

“Inflation” to economists is how much the price is going up this month.

“Inflation” to most people is how much stuff costs.

It feels like there needs to be some acknowledgement of that when this is all talked about, after the superinflation of 2022. The goal should be that prices go back down, not that they go back to going up by 3% per year now that they’re way up high.

For some reason I was back in Chrome today, and I searched Google, without meaning to, for:

Here's what I got:

That's great, but I am not the channel's primary owner, and surely the majority of the time the person seeking an answer to this question will not be, also.

I felt a little stingy at this point, because this sounds like a real solution.

I opened the source for the channel page, and searched the source code for channelid, and found nothing.

Then, while typing this complaint, I noticed that I was supposed to do that from a random video's page, so I opened one of the videos, did that, and found nothing.

A YouTube channel can have multiple URLs that direct viewers to the channel homepage. These URLs can look different, but they all point to the same channel.

Irrelevant information. How do I find the channel ID?

I clicked on Stack Overflow, closed several popups. The top answer wasn't useful. I did find a couple of answers down:

I've heard that the standard Lemmy UI is not under active development because the Lemmy UI developers are working on a rewrite. I looked at it for a while though, and I thought that, aside from some missing features and polish, it was fine.

I'm trying Photon right now, and it is also fine, and a little more feature-complete, but it is visibly janky in some respects. Maybe it is my biases, but I also much prefer the model of clicking on things and getting a new page over a single-page app that you interact with via controls.

What was so terrible about the vanilla Lemmy UI? Do people really have a strong level of dislike for it? It seems to me like it just needs some love to smooth down the rough edges and awkward spots, but the core doesn't seem in any way terrible such that it would need to be abandoned.
