Not absurd at all imo. The "tankies" were always right, whatever that word even means these days.

It's kinda like "woke" but used against leftists instead of socially progressive liberals (and leftists) to shut down discussion.

What changed my mind were the tankies on hexbear

Same lol. The recent escalation in Palestine in October prompted me to take a look at lemmygrad and hexbear with an open mind, seeing as how they seemed to be the only ones not chastising Hamas or the Palestinian resistance groups for attacking "israel" and got defederated by .world for it.

Second Thought and Hakim's videos on the USSR in particular finally made me realize just how much anti-communist propaganda I'd been fed.

Well that's one less nationalist

I sure hope that boot tastes good

If the country had an actually decent head of state I doubt many would be mad at this.

Of course, then there wouldn't be a waiting time for people to get mad at in the first place.

US elections + an ongoing genocide that same country is funding tends to do that.

[–] OtakuAltair@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

I blame you 🗿

A symptom of rising tensions around the world in recent months, and this platform already being a political space.

Honestly I don't know much of what he does outside YouTube. His videos are bangers though, extremely thorough and I love that he lists sources for pretty much every single thing he says.

Like damn, 104 links and sources for this video alone

Hey that's me :D

Seeing libs both-siding a genocide and colonialism in the present day honestly makes it much easier to understand how slavery was so prevalent for so long.

Decolonization is violent; if you don't like it, don't colonize in the first place.

In short, Reddit is killing off most third party apps and bots, like Apollo, which are what made this site even usable on mobile. They're doing this by charging insane amounts of money that no one will be able to pay (20 million dollars for apollo). They're also straight up lying about and insulting the app devs. Here's Apollo's dev debunking those lies.

People protested. First, subs were closed and privated, but were forced open by admins, so now they're protesting by only allowing John Oliver pics, or taking sub names literally.

Alot of them them have moved to Lemmy and kbin, which are both compatible with each other.

Picture to explain simply how Lemmy and kbin work and how they're compatible; they are both part of the Fediverse.

Sub.rehab lists subreddits that have officially moved to other platforms, but honestly, just ignore those not on Lemmy or kbin. Just join the largest Lemmy or kbin community for full compatibility.

There's also Lemmynsfw.com for NSFW communities/subreddits (not listed in sub.rehab) that you can seamlessly access from any instance/server the same way explained in the picture linked above.

Just join any Lemmy or kbin server/instance to access everything; doesn't matter which because they're all connected. Lemmy.world, Lemm.ee, kbin.social, fedia.io are all great for example.

This will also prevent blind, deaf, and people with other disabilities from engaging in discussions on Reddit.

Reddit Sync's dev is now working on Sync for Lemmy instead. Artemis for kbin/Lemmy and Memmy for Lemmy are both heavily inspired by Apollo; Artemis will even be on both Android and IOS.

This picture explains simply how Lemmy and kbin work and how they're compatible; they are both part of the Fediverse.

Sub.rehab lists subreddits that have officially moved off of reddit. Honestly, just ignore the few that aren't on Lemmy or kbin. Just join the largest Lemmy or kbin community for full compatibility.

For subreddits you like that haven't moved off of reddit yet, send a polite message to the mods asking them if they plan to make the subreddit/community in Lemmy/kbin.

Copy/paste this summary anywhere relevant to spread the word.
