This goes way further than EU rules.

EU regulation only mandates this for phones. This also covers non-phone electronics, such as mice, keyboards, flashlights, handheld fans, ebooks etc. As of 2026, it also applies to laptops.

If the target doesn't displace much volume (i.e. Is light or going slow) there is no wake. Also, when most of the volume is deeper under water, there will be no wake (but the increased drag will result in a more audible drone, especially under water).

Losslessly transporting energy over great distances. (assuming the material can reasonably be made in great quantities).

We could put up a bunch of solar panels in sparsely populated areas, and transport the energy to densely populated areas. (sahara -> Europe comes to mind).
