I want info about 3DS homebrew apps to be easily available within the fediverse, so I wrote this guide.

Overview
Rehid is a homebrew app by Hax0Kartik that can semi-permanently remap buttons, the circle pad, and/or touchscreen taps for individual 3DS games.

Uses (non-exhaustive):
• Fixing an annoying control scheme
• Mapping older game’s camera controls to c-stick
• "Fixing" a broken home button

Installation:

  1. Download the latest release from Github or Universal Downloader
  2. Run the rehidhelper.3dsx file
  3. Select “download rehid”
  4. After it downloads, reboot your 3DS.

Using Rehid:

  1. Configure a remap using mikahjc’s remap builder
  2. Run rehidhelper.3dsx again
  3. Scan the generated QR code
  4. Select the game you want to apply it to.
  5. Profit

The remap will be in effect until you overwrite it or delete your game's titleid folder from the rehid folder at the root of your SD.

Tip(s) and Trick(s):
Tip: If you want a remap to apply to all titles, select the Blue G for Global at the very end of your software list.
Trick: You can find premade Rehid QR codes for some games online. Here's a compilation of a bunch on Github.

Troubleshooting:
For general questions, commenting here works.
For errors, best to refer to the comments on the creator's gbatemp post.

Ironically i don't think it'd be that good for grilling fish on. No grills, only gills.

My last legit one was in Narita airport during a layover. It's been almost a year since then though. I've been bringing my 3ds with me everywhere too.
