Everyone even tangentially related to healthcare is terrified of violating HIPAA in a way that leaves evidence that can be traced back to them. So the corps force dumb shit like this, while the employees are perfectly happy to tell all kinds of private health information to anyone who will listen. Especially if it's funny or gross.

Yeah they'll protest against any attempt to fix it after they're propagandized into thinking it is woke and will raise their taxes. Small farmers are a vanishingly small part of the food grown in the US, and most of them are wealthy assholes. Family farmer is just a political pawn that gets trotted out to raise emotions. Oh no the Democrats might hurt their precious subsidies! These poor family farmers might starve while owning millions of dollars in land.

My mom told me to stop.

I didn't even notice it this time. That's worrying. Maybe I'm internally beginning to accept it. Fuck that.

Obama is over 20 years older than me and I think he looks great. I think he stopped dying his hair during the presidency.

Is there any alternative to starlink that could be invested in? Everyone needs to divest from starlink as soon as they can.

I'm in a very conservative state and until recently I worked in hospitals around the country. You would not believe the amount of times I've heard covid conspiracy shit from actual healthcare workers. The most common one is that it's just the flu, but when anyone died for any reason at the time they put down covid as cause of death. Why would anyone do this? I guess it doesn't have to make sense. Just to hazard a guess I'd say more than half of the people in my state believe some form of covid conspiracy or disinformation.

But if poor white Americans die they don't make more poor white Americans to support fascism and die in war.

You're probably right though.

Agreed 💯. I wasn't talking about her specifically, just the way words have changed meaning over time, specifically in the US.

I misread the title as South Africa so at first I was like what the fuck are you even talking about.

Actual answer: slavery, the civil war, then segregation, then Jim Crow, then redlining, and through all of it slave labor through prisons that disproportionately hold black people. All these things create generational poverty as well. Now it is seen in the attacks on woke and DEI. The United States is profoundly racist.

In the traditional meaning of the words, all Republicans and Democrats are conservative liberals. Does that seem like an oxymoron? It's not, we've just twisted the word liberal to mean not conservative in the US. Progressive is a much better word for people who are against the conservative agenda.

These people don't understand long term thinking. Cutting Medicaid will stop the poorest Americans from getting preventative care. This will massively increase the cost to the country when they have to go to the emergency room to try to save their life later on. Our taxes will pay those exorbitant bills.

I read that for every dollar in funding, the IRS brings in five dollars. But it's long term, so it's impossible for these fuckers to comprehend.
