Indeed, this would be nice to see. For me, the problem is really that LightBurn is over kill, for a cheap basic machine, you really don't need half of what it offers. Heck, I'd love to see an Android software for lasers, and am surprised that hasn't happened yet.

This, it seems like they forgot the original intention as shown in DS9, it's not an official organization nor anything approaching it, it's basically just a long standing group carving hiding in Starfleet justifying doing what they want by pointing to a paragraph in the Constitution... Sovereign Citizens with phasers and photon torpedoes anyone?

This, and it's a really smart decision for both, VW has been struggling on the software side, and Rivian is already offering custom software solutions to fleet buyers of their step vans, so now their software people get more work, and Rivian gets more money.

I'm not real sure how she is on policies, I rarely see anything about her in the news, but even if she's not great now, the bigger question is can she learn, and this would be a good proving ground for that.

While I am concerned with Biden's performance, but a debate really has little to do with his actual job, so I'm not real worried about his performance. That said, it prolly wouldn't be a bad idea to get her more involved, let her flex her skills in front of voters and such, that way if he does need to step down before or after the election, the voters know his replacement already, and what she can do.

True, but even if such tests double the price, it's still cheaper than anything else offered, what's the lowest right now, $29K?

Chuckles, "Yep, only American manufacturers should be allowed to cheaply build cars in Mexico and export them to the US."

IIRC didn't Tesla start building their network when there wasn't really a standard, and who was still going to win was up in the air? Seems like a good investment, but now that things have settled, creating your own network is really just a vanity project. Tesla opening up their network is smart, they were one of the two winners in North America, so opening up the network gives them a new revenue stream, and I'd be surprised if'n they don't find a way to leverage those chargers to drive sales.

Considering what I've heard about their network, this smells like a way to bail out of a failure while saving face

Yes, but knowing China, they'll be happy to supply Tesla, while selling knock-off parts and quality control failures under their own brand to anyone who wants them, at least until they get their own operation up and running to make their own cars, a process a lot easier when you're in the country, something Tesla will be facilitating.

I suspect he will come to regret this, the Chinese aren't stupid, and will be happy to slit his throat once they've got what they need.

Hopefully this is allowed here, after all there are plenty of online stories about the horrors of taking trips in an electric car.

My husband, @lirleni@wandering.shop went to a convention in Olive Branch, MS in his Leaf from our house in Hazelwood, MO, a distance of 321 miles, not huge as far as trips go obviously.

So, how'd it go? Mostly good, though he ended it stupidly, and I have no idea what he's going to do, though I've given him some suggestions, and that is he didn't worry about getting to the hotel on a good charge, he figured he'd run down the road and charge the car after check in at the hotel. Unfortunately the charger he chose, prolly the nearest fast charger, is down, and there are no other chargers in that area so he returned to the hotel with 5%/10 miles of range. Yeah, he should've topped off along the way to insure he still had a decent amount of range at the end.

Outside of that, there's not much to report, he stopped in Perryville for his first charge, 91 miles out, then in Hayti another 111 miles away with no problems. Another plus of sorts was road construction which kept him under highway speeds for a large chunk of the trip as did an accident, plus weather mild enough that he didn't need to use the AC, had he needed it, there would've definitely needed to be more stops, and I'm not sure the trip would've been doable, at least not same day as fast chargers are sparse in southern MO and Memphis area.

Considering that he's driving a Leaf, the trip went well, so anyone that tells you that electric cars can't take trips, point them to this.

I don't think law enforcement is going to like the outcome of this...
