Prometheus didn't gift us fire and cognition. Lies. We are Prometheus's curse on the universe. Nothing more than a plague on the gods creation, concocted for some slight we can never understand. The sum of us, brought into being, then tossed into the void and forgotten. To spread like an oil stain across creation.
I think that's what a lot of people miss is the trade/political aspect of schism. While I'm sure millions held genuine beliefs, it's hard to understate the economic reality of the church in those days. Huge land holdings, an ancient web of power and obligations reaching into every life, every transaction, every political appointment. When it became conceivable to break with this system, it was broken. This breaking was Consequential. Hence the centuries of warfare and strife. It's all about that money honey.
Do you know if anyone ever plays those defence games? I remember playing a bunch of really fun custom scenario games multiplayer.

People used to have bumper stickers that said "grass cash or ass" as in payment methods for a ride. It often meant they were willing to give a stranger a ride. As fear and irony took over our nation it eventually became a shitpost. No one hitchhikes anymore tho

Deep impact is a great movie! Directed by Mimi Leder. She also directed The Peacemaker, a great 90's adventure movie with George Clooney and Nichole Kidman. If you're into that sort of thing.
I never got the dune hype either, book or movie. The latest was fun to watch on the big screen, and the 80's make is awesomely 80's in all its 80's terribleness. But over all it gets a meh from me. And I'm a huge SF nerd.
As someone who grew up in northern areas, not really. In fall or spring (Oct, or April) when the sun has a better angle you can notice. But the rest of the winter when the sun's at a slant? Not so much.

I switched to Linux mint. No ragrets. It takes a bit of fiddling and a teensie bit of a learning curve. But it's way easier than Microsofts endless deluge of shit.
