I do find it somewhat ironic how much they have embraced USB-C on laptops and tablets, yet were essentially forced to add to their phones.

I responded to someone else, but I have a gaming laptop that needs the DC Barrel plug for playing games, but also lets you charge it with USB-C (useful for traveling). That would meet the standard set forth, as it is compatible with USB-C charging.

Good point with that last bit, I have a gaming laptop that comes with a big DC Barrel plug and power brick, which is essentially needed for playing games. However, it also lets you charge with USB-C which is what I use when travelling/doing productive work. I see no reason why this approach can't be applied more regularly, as it increases flexibility and maintains compatibility with the standard.

This may not be a popular opinion, but I personally see no issue with this if the terms of service and use are made clear and transparent before you order the device. Would I personally recommend or use the product? Hell no, but people having an informed choice, and choosing to accept these terms is perfectly fine imo.

I use navigation all the time, or have it up at least, for the live traffic updates. Very useful!

Jesus Christ on a motorbike

"The Lord was with Joshua and his Triumph was heard throughout the land." (Joshua 6:27)

I can't remember which translation says "triumph," most say "noise" instead.

When I worked at a grocery store, we had very cheap paper towels to absorb messes, and had to use a ton of them to actually clean up a mess. This is the part I never understood, you cheap out on the paper, now I have to use way more. Likely a multiple higher than how much cheaper it is. It's only cheaper to buy, it's very shortsighted.

Eventually they wised up and got us real, good paper towels. We used way, way less, and interestingly we only had good paper towels from that point forward.

Edit: Can't forget to mention the extra labor costs with more time spent cleaning up a mess!

One of these days there'll be an interview where Margot Robbie talks about her constant use of Lemmy

That's an actual truck. Not an AI generated image. Source: Intel.

Though in general I do agree about AI generated article images, or lazy article images in general (AI or not). They're fun to laugh at, though.

Earlier this week when I saw a post about it, I did end up getting a reddit thread which was interesting. It was partially hallucinating though, parts of the thread were verbatim, other parts were made up.

And somehow it's entertaining and educational every time.

Does anyone else with ADHD have some days where your executive dysfunction is worse than normal, and you end up barely doing anything and feeling like crap? I'm having one of those days, and I'm hoping I'm not alone in experiencing this.
