Lol I dislike forbes but there is a good article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/bryanrobinson/2020/09/02/why-neuroscientists-say-boredom-is-good-for-your-brains-health/?sh=69c399611842
So overall, I think the bigger issue here is the depression, because boredom can be quite nice with a certain mindset. Gives you time to think and wonder what you want, time to be creative or perhaps seek out someone you haven‘t had time for in a while. Boredom for me is a sign that I now have some time to do whatever I like and have no stress (I‘m bored today, so I‘m browsing lemmy and thinking of what I want to do).
Depression is rough though and something I still haven‘t fully escaped from, but for me what helped was identifying sources of my depression (I had a terrible job for example which had made me much worse for a time and a toxic family member I cut off). With that, therapy can sometimes help because it‘s you telling someone a lot about yourself and they can give you an outside perspective to maybe see where the root of your unhappiness lies.
Cannibal take seems accurate, kinda how it feels looking in too. Not glad about any of these people in charge, but at least they hurt each other right now.
