What exactly did Palworld steal? Surely you have sources for your claims

Yes, you throw away the code and write it again.

Your statement "if you're on Windows" is still wrong.

Additionally, the Heroic project is officially affiliated with GOG, so saying that they don't care is also wrong.

Well-deserved shout-out for GOG. Its standalone installers make actually owning your games much more convenient than it would be on Steam.

Have you tried the Heroic Games Launcher? It's currently the most advanced launcher for GOG games on Linux, even implementing support for some of GOG Galaxy's online services. Additionally it's officially affiliated with GOG, so you can "donate" to the project by purchasing games through the client.

How did you try to get The Thaumaturge to run? I found that I could run many games on my library without issue using the Heroic Games Launcher, which is arguably the premier Linux client for GOG games.

I don't know how you can say that it's not a competitor.

It's because they're hyperfixated on Linux, just like the majority of the Lemmy userbase.

In reality any x86-based handheld is potential competition for the Steam Deck.

What we should do is blame OP for deliberately choosing a title that makes it look worse than it is.

You're already free to support developers and instance owners financially if they've set up either Patreon, OpenCollective or LiberaPay 🤷

Problem is, not enough people are doing it. Case in point: https://join-lemmy.org/donate

Turns out you're actually the owner of your home instance. I didn't know that when I made my previous comments.

I'm guessing you're currently paying for your instance's upkeep out of pocket? I can't spot any donation links on your instance. This might work for you personally, but do you really expect other, larger instances to do the same? Even donations are only rarely sustainable.

The end goal of this proposal is to build interoperability features into GitLab so that it’s possible on one instance of GitLab to open a merge request to a project hosted on an other instance, merging all willing instances in a global network.

To achieve that, we propose to use ActivityPub, the w3c standard used by the Fediverse. This will allow us to build upon a robust and battle-tested protocol, and it will open GitLab to a wider community.

I've been using Kagi for a while and it's nice to see them embrace the Threadiverse.
