You'll probably need to put some time into researching the instrument itself, any descendants of the instruments (some upgrades are just worth it), and the musical trends of the time (eg, tuning lower then A=440, different materials for strings ect)
When I'm writing, if I just listen to the songs I want to take inspiration from the day before a few times (properly listen, with intent) the main ideas/vibe of the songs are far more present in my writing then usual

I'm a computing/music student thinking of getting into plugin design and similar stuff, I'm curious what plugin design is like and what it consists of. Is there any like quick tips or bits of information you could give me about the field?
