I'd only recommend Proton if a) you're already paying for their suite or b) you're not using Linux. Otherwise, Mullvad is the way to go IMO.

That's weird - I've been playing for years with zero issues. The odd crash on startup. Only downside is I can't log into my Xbox account.

Are your crashes random, or caused by anything specific?

Fair enough, although I still think the timeframe is some classic Proton soon™ copium. The community CLI app currently supports it.

That said, I might expect the official app to have higher standards for security. And, the community version cannot handle split tunneling and kill switch at once, you have to pick one or the other.
