I know not the point, but...

I tried entering the same name I use for the game for campfire and it told my that others would find it offensive, and refused to let me use it...it's been a nickname of mine for something like 20 years

Still haven't signed up for the standalone app...can't figure out what else to call myself :/

Yesterday, I got some pop up when I opened chrome about blah blah Google...ads...blah blah, and promptly downloaded Firefox.

Yes it's lame it wasn't already on there, but it's a shared / work computer and I try to keep new downloads to a minimum, but that was the last straw.

Dude. Sciatica is the worst. Every once in a while I injure myself and can barely stand for days.

The only thing that helped was this old, Hispanic "healer man", that massaged the nerve back into place. It's not like woo woo healing and its not an actual massage. This man just knew anatomy really well and could feel everything out by touch alone. It took 15 mins and I was pain-free, although I had to go back a few times until it set. Hiking helped the muscles get strong enough to keep it in place.

I've gone to several other people that say they do similar things, including ones near the boarder, but they've never been able to fix it. Western Doctors were completely useless, they couldn't even diagnose me properly. The next closest thing would probably be a sports massage therapist.

This man was apparently known far and wide, with people comming from other states to see him. Any one in my local hispanic community i mentioned it to, was familiar with him.

Sadly, he was old and stopped working his magic around the time covid started, due to him and his wife's, unrelated, ailing health. I've been searching for someone else ever since. I'm sure there are others like him, there are definitely imitations. I have to assume someone else has excelled at this practice, and this old man wasnt just a one off.

If you have any contacts in the hispanic community, that may know of someone like him, I'd say it's definitely worth a shot to at least ask around.

This. No one realizes that your probably not gonna make it to 100 in perfect health. If your body doesn't go, it will be your mind. Either way, it does not sound appealing.

If nothing else, the arthritis has gotten so bad, you wanna off yourself anyways.

Hard pass.

Thank you for the clarification.

And they do. My family member still insists on only submitting thier taxes by snail mail. For 2021, the IRS lost the original, required a second submission (of original documents, lol), and then lost that one. In the end, they had to get an advocate to help them submit a third, and final return.

At least they didn't owe, or I'm sure they would have been in big trouble. But of course the IRS sending the refund check over a year late, has no repercussions...

I'm not sure that access to care is particularly the issue. I mean, it's part of it, but when you have women like Beyonce and Venus Williams describing thier near death experiences while giving birth, there's something else going on here.

Doctor education and bias, I believe, have alot to do with this issue. Women of color, esp. Black women, have the same rates of complications as white women do, but they die at a much higher rate. Many doctors don't want to listen to thier patients or don't recognize that diseases prevalent in communities of color take a larger toll than expected on a pregnant woman. Some doctors just cant or plain don't want to take the time to ensure that the pregnancy is deveolping in a healthy fashion for both the mother and the child.

And, now, with abortion bans driving doctors out of states that already have an issue, the problem is only going to get worse.

I was not a previous sync user, but it seems to be a beloved app. Although...

I am somewhat surprised at the use of personal data in the privacy policy.

I understand a guy's gotta make a living, but with all the hype, I'm not sure I expected this.

Which one is worse?

Trump running the country from jail, or DeSantis running the country from the White House.

Honestly, I feel more comfortable having Trump run again. I'm way more confident that he would lose vs DeSantis.

If the full weight of the republican party plus some uninformed, curious swing voters, got behind DeSantis and he won...

Man, DeSantis scares the shit out of me.
