Imagine my shock of the voting process when moving from Texas to Oregon. From pulling teeth to vote to getting it delivered on a silver platter. It feels so unconstitutional down there.

I really want to see Peertube flourish but I'm just not sure it's going to work out. Video streaming platforms are a much different beast than the micro blogs of Mastodon or forums of Lemmy. But, this is a good step in that direction so good luck to them.

As an Oregonian, yay!

I like visibility and accountability!

I can’t think of anything more specifically “reddit brain” than lumping Ajit Pai in with Hitler and of the hundreds of school shooting...

Nobody said they're the same, just that if hell exists they'd all be there. They're all just famous horrible people that are popular to talk about online, that's what they have in common.

... including the one shooter that happened to be trans.

You have a point there, that was certainly a choice.

I had this sweet thing, I was the coolest kid on the block I tell ya.

Jokes on her, I'm never going to be able to retire in our current system anyway!

Check mate 😏

so I don’t mind screwing things up a little bit.

Which you clearly did, and are trying to blame Edge. There's plenty of things to shit on Edge for but user error is not one of them.

Enterprise IT infrastructure admin here, I've imaged thousands of windows laptops over a decade and dealt with Edge since it was implemented, never seen anything like this. I'm sure you're confident in your abilities but you messed something up real bad or have malware of some kind. No question about it, this is not typical for any version of Edge.

Nobody is worshipping Bernie here, nobody said "King Bernie" and this straw man you constructed doesn't exist. He just acted like an adult by calling out immature behavior and was praised for it. That's it. What an odd, overly hostile reaction lol

If they're defining the code then it might be really easy for them to follow, it just might not align with what we might think of as a code of ethics.

Some day we will be ashamed that we gleefully cheered for this

Who is gleefully cheering for this?

Yeah, I thought the edit was giving me "All Lives Matter" vibes.

[SOLVED] - Lemmy doesn't notify you if the username is taken and just hangs indefinitely if it is taken. Just an fyi to anybody else who's having issues signing up for a Lemmy instance.

Title says it all. I've tried multiple browsers, restarting, flushing dns and everything else I can think to troubleshoot this on my end. Whenever I try to sign up it just hangs infinitely on the page that I took a screenshot of, with the submit button spinning.

How can I join this side of lemmy? Lemmy.world is pretty good but I would like to be in an instance that is defederated from lemmygrad please lol

Lola is a lovely lady who likes stealing chairs

Because it's only halfway through June and I'm over it lol

A fun read about a royal woman in medieval England who is believed to be the root cause of the kingdom falling. Personally, I like the perspective that she and King Lothar II were actually in love and all the nastiness historians have on Waldra is nothing but the defamation put out by his wife Theutberga. We don't have any way of knowing for sure, but that's how I'm going to interpret this event when I adapt it into my own writing, for the drama 😎

If you're into TTRPG's then you might enjoy the LGBTQ staffers at Paizo (creators of Pathfinder) coming forward and submitting something about what gives them strength. It made me smile and I hope it makes you smile too!
