Everyone agrees that we are missing some key information that would explain this. I don't know what it is any more than the rest, but we should bear in mind that the missing factor could be incompetence. Russia's power structure is complex and delicately balanced. Putin has gone to great efforts to insure that no one knows everything. More than one of the players may have badly miscalculated, resulting in the current mess.

It's worth pushing for this. Most of what little privacy protection we get these days is a side effect of laws in the EU. It would be nice to actually have some of those legal protection here as well.
I'm glad to be in a small pocket of relative sanity in the northern midwest, but that map is appalling.
There's a short-term version compatibility issue between Jerboa and most Lemmy instances right now, but that shouldn't last too long. Aside from that, I have been enjoying Jerboa. It has just worked for me.
I'm just glad they said "can" and not "would".
I'm also vegan, which would add another layer of complication. I can't eat the piano if those are real ivory keys. ;-)
