You're right and I think the commenter was sprouting bollocks. Reddit used to be plagued with comments like that which are simply meant to cast doubt, and aren't based on facts.

Great news. Sync made Reddit usable for me, as I was able to easily filter out keywords and subs that were problematic.

I don't agree but can definitely understand that perspective. It is pretty weird on face value.
