From what ive heard, their original name was bought when they moved to their second country so they just use whatever name, altho I have no source for that

I always thought as tho the meaning of the sub name is to make fun of people who do not awnser "stupid questions" by saying that they are forbidden from the sub.

Maybe I'm just stupid lol

Jay walking, it is illegal in some places, almost never enforced

This is basically the doing of the futo non profit, they ate testing out if open source software can be profittable.

Louis Rossmann has a lot of videos about them (he works for them)

From what I get, you can just use it for free, but they don't say it is free to compell more people to buy it.

I read a lot of people saying that I should leave spotify for local files, or Apple music, só i Sant to go witb the Apple music route, but I havê to convincente my family members, what are tour best argumenta?

(They think the switch will ne to hard, and therefore it isnt worth it)

No script help. (lemmy.world)

Hey guys, I have been seeing a lot of people talking good things about noscript, I have a few questions about it:

  • Why isn't it open source? Is there a open source alternative? To me this kinda feels suspicious, installing an extension that can affect all tabs from outside the Mozzila store, while not even open source...
  • How to minimize damage? After briefly trying it on, I couldn't interact with lemmy anymore, many websites lost their dark mode, youtube wasn't pausing the video, nor was the like button working...
  • Is it really needed? What kind of threat model makes something like that needed? Wouldn't it be possible to just add other sources for uBlock to block tracking scripts or something?
