Of course, he isn't likely - he loved it, when it was uncertainty and confusion for Ukraine, because what he wants out of a deal is a way to position Russia to eventually still eliminate an independent Ukraine altogether. Now that it's flip-flopping again, and the uncertainty produced by the administration in the US isn't completely in his favour any more, there's no reason for them to entertain it at all.

Oh no, it got deleted, that is unfortunate ):

No I haven't, great idea!

EDIT: Okay, I think !demoscene@programming.dev might not actually exist anyomer as anything but a reference on other servers.

Thanks! There's a treasure trove of demos to trickle as content in the coming days, that should last for months - but I am hoping that maybe even some people active in the scene able to add some discussions, guides, explanations, etc. may join eventually.

I found some years-old communities for this, but they were long dead and the mods seemed to have gone inactive long ago, too.

Check it out at !demoscene@lemmy.abnormalbeings.space

I tried, years ago, I think their federated approach to building a database and crawling are cool - but at least the last time I checked, the actual search algorithm was just too bad. It often gave me completely irrelevant results and seemed very susceptible to spam sites gaming Search Engine Optimisation.

The problem isn’t that the fediverse isn’t viable. The problem isn’t that it’s “too complicated.” The problem is that the giants of Silicon Valley have spent 20 years convincing us that anything outside their control isn’t worth our time.

And that’s just not bloody true.

Couldn't have said it better myself

I think there is one more piece to the situation: Ultimately, it would be down to the executive to actually implement those things. Now, even where they haven't been replaced by loyalists, they have to face one more thing: What are the consequences if they defy the court vs what are the potential consequences for defying Trump.

As long as there is no determined, organised opposition, that makes it clear there will be a new status quo after Trump and crimes will be punished, they have many reason to fear Trump's cronies, and little to fear the courts.

And I mean an opposition that is actually capable and willing to take power, not some sort of "moral opposition".

True, I'm actually German myself, and I have to admit - it was a bit of an intuitive, emotional reaction. Really: My worry is about their wealth. Even as old people, where not giving them harsh prison sentences is understandable, what's keeping them from further supporting fascists in the future? Even if they are monitored, I don't have a lot of faith in our police and the Verfassungsschutz to properly monitor flow of finances, especially when it comes to hidden gold transfers at meetups, or Monero or similar loopholes.

Am I missing something? Isnˋt that just a traditional remedy for vitamin D deficiency? (And, well, I guess it also has decently healthy fatty acids and some other nutrients)

As per the video: new high of concurrent users, 40 million online with 12.7 million actively playing games.

The defendants, four men, aged 46 to 58, and a 77-year-old woman, who belonged to the self-styled “United Patriots” group, were sentenced to between five years and nine months and eight years’ jail by the Koblenz higher regional court on Thursday.

Look, I am not usually one to demand more draconic sentencing, but this seems inappropriately short. IMO, the main part of the sentence should have been to strip them of assets that could ever be again used in any revolutionary attempts.
