But everyone could sign up for other instances that are federated. They can even have multiple accounts across different instances. I don't see this as the beginning of the slide down a slippery slope.

And folks can have accounts with multiple instances! So if you don't feel like seeing certain content, you can use the .world account, if you'd like to see a larger array of content, switch to the lem.ee account.

Some people will take any disagreement as a personal attack.

Everyone can read the Manifesto of the Communist Party at marxists.org if they would like and see for themselves how it lays out the move toward communism.

And the population for this town is less than 8000. So it is even less representative of a country of over 330 million or whetever it is at now. Again, all I am pointing out is that trying to say "all of the US is like this" doesn't make sense.
