this is why she lost, morons complaining about themselves. who fucking cares, that ad was not targetted at you, and if it was, grow some thicker fucking skin rather than voting for a fascist. I don't give a shit if the dems personally put me on a pedastal and said I was alone to blame for the US problems; I have a functional brain and can see what the actual problems are and who has actual solutions, or at least not exclusively ways to enrich himself and get revenge.
middle aged white dudes are the problem, I'm one of them. this morning, I was nearly assulted and arrested due to a roadrage incident. a dude in a pickup nearly sideswiped me at an intersection, I had to swerve to avoid him. At the light, he rolled down the window and started yelling at me. I rolled down mine because I honestly thought he was going to apologise but instead he started screaming insults at me because "you couldn't let me have that one car length!!!". I told him that after the shit this country just endured, this was how we wanted to handle things?
This was apparently the wrong answer because he jumped out of his car and started coming at me. I am not interested in a road rage altercation so I floored it and ran the red light. I would up cutting off a cop who saw the whole thing and let me go because I did the right thing.
this was my first interaction with a person since the election. I sincerly hope this was just tensions running high, but I can't help but feel this nation just gave that sort of problem solving it's full throated support.

No point in hiding for 4 years, shits not going to be the same when you come out. The only thing we can do is get the fuck out or stay and fight. Shit’s gone get real bad if we all just hide. Pretty much what caused the issue since I feel like we all have been since Covid.
It’s easy to keep rewinding until you find the one place we went wrong. Turnips first election, what we let bush get away with, Clinton’s turn of the party, electing Reagan, Nixon…. There always the one thing, there’s always the one weird trick.

it's fucking absurd where we are 12 days from the election. the fix is in, and those who claim to love this country, clearly hate it. I don't care what happens in the election, this nation is cooked.
truth be told, the only reason I would be even remotely interested in the device is the stupid laser projector. Seems like that might be fun to play with.
turnip is turnip, just because he doesn't exactly display the hallmarks of a previous person, doesn't mean he's not also a thing. he's populist because he's running an empty campaign with no actual plans. there's nothing behind any of the things he's promising, he's just promising them because he thinks it can get him elected.
I mean, he's promised no income tax, tax breaks, no tax on tips, etc. none of it is backed by any policies, only, "trust me, it's gonna be great". when I talk populist, I mean specifically this sort of behavior, I don't think for one second that he actually cares about enacting any of it short of doing things that will make people like him. I honestly believe that once the rubber meets the road, and he either does his mass deportations and the nation suddenly realizes why it's a terrible idea or he doesn't because it's such a stupid idea and his mouthbreathing supporters turn on him. repeat ad nauseam for any of the other insane things that he's promising.
the same argument can be made that he's not a fascist, he's not doing exactly the same things as previous fascist regimes right?
so we may be getting hung up on semantics here, I'm not always the best with smart brain words.
well, I didn't say there would be a civil war. I can't say I can forsee all the mechanics but as far as I'm concerned, there is a slow motion coup happening now. do you think for one second that they won't try to do everything possible to rig things in their favor, do you think for one second that they are not already trying?
In the end, a populist agenda like he's running, where he will say and promise anything to anyone, simply cannot be worked. his base isn't even a majority but the stupid system we have will let minority rule. so, I simply do not believe enough americans will fall in line, his obstinate supporters aren't capable enough of holding the system together. I wish I knew what the fate would be, I just don't see a good one.
Again, I am 100% hoping that I'm full of shit, that I'm deranged and paranoid. I honestly hope this is a me problem.
