some blame that on the idea of "1€/1$ per play hour" - and when these games come with a price of 60€+ (modern AAA is 80€), they'll get content shoved inside..

I think it's just bad game design that became the norm. I'm pretty sure you can make a game that's received as worthy its price, without overwhelming players like me with the sheer amount of content.

Example: I tried to follow the support text on the right for this instance, that says "enter !lemmy_support@lemmy.ml in the search field of your instance". Now when I enter this, I get everything, except a direct link towards the exact remote lemmy instance of this search entry, as can be seen from my screenshot.

Can this be changed, so when something follows the !... syntax, it'll directly show a result for the instance and sub ? Additionally it would be nice to just have the expression embedded in a one-click copy mode.

yeah it was never about making it impossible, only about making it inconvenient enough that it's manageable

another part that I know from personal experience: you made something new, kinda tiny, not 100% there - you probably didn't expect this to really take off (see fediverse in general), so you don't go all the way to fix UX problems or annoying things - because your stuff may not ever be used by more than those few hundred people (which is a lot already for hobby projects), it may even die out in two years

and then the bomb drops and you have random users trying to use your side project

imagine linux would get adopted overnight by a few thousand windows users that didn't like the windows 11 migration..

All governments and API server owners have shown that this is a wish and not reality.

Daily offsite to a backup server via restic (+ a self written wrapper for multiple targets). Restic can also run with anything else (sftp, s3 APIs etc). Kinda modern duplicity / borg. Full encrypted and incremental.
