MODERATORS

The spammers have broken in and started posting links to sites I’ve never heard of. I must have blocked a dozen users today.

Can you be more specific about what community you're seeing this in? I'm not aware of a c/Random on Beehaw. Also, please report these posts if you see them, mods will clear them out for everyone.

It's an unmoderated kbin magazine. Nothing to be done but block it and move on.

Ah okay, annoying then but such is life

[–] HappyMeatbag@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah, my bad, it’s on Kbin

The Arkansans have figured out a way around the new no-porn law.

I was subbed to random@kbin.social on another account, and I started by blocking and reporting several of the spammers, but nothing seemed to happen, so I thought maybe they're alright with straight up porn?

That's where the bulk of it seemed to be. Once I blocked that community, I haven't seen much since, even browsing all.

I'm still a noob here good sir, how can I possibly block these spam? I'm currently using desktop. I also was subbed to random@kbin.social without me ever knowing that instance.

Are you sure you weren't browsing all? I don't think you could be subscribed to a community without your knowing.

To block: Click on the community name (random@kbin.social) next time you see a post from there. There should be a "block community" button on the right side of the screen. I've done this quite a lot to block the porn communities. I see you're on lemmy.ml, so I think if you click the following link you should see that block button: https://lemmy.ml/c/random@kbin.social

Don't worry, it was confusing to me when I first joined the fediverse as well.

Idk, maybe I just clicked it by accident? Thank you so much for this brother. May you have a nice day ahead!

Yep, fediverse is really confusing as hell, but I'm working my way up to familiarizing with it!

I thought I accidentally subbed to a NSFW instance. I opted not to sub to any NSFW instances here.

They’re from the Random magazine on kbin.social. They’re marked “18+” there.

The posts I saw appeared to be tagged NSFW
