Some of the ones I've found with actual content on them have been TILvids and watch.breadTube.TV.
Peertube
A free software to take back control of your videos
Peertube is an open, federated alternative to Youtube without advertising or tracking. On this site, you can find a good Peertube instance, with good rules, good moderation and most importantly a friendly community.
What are you into?
There's a mirror of the hated one (not official, but I asked him and he says he doesn't mind the copy).
There's the Linux Experiment
I do tabletop rpg stuff
I like linux, I like coding, I like music, I like gaming, I like essays, I like writing, I like art...
if you introduce me something that is cool I will probably find it cool.
You can say I like everything that is interesting. but with a few preferences.
!tilvids is the one I prefer.
They don't accept instance follows for some weird reason, despite this hurting discoverability
It's because the youtubers coming over only agreed for their content to be viewed on tilvid.com, not other instances so they owner follows that.
it doesn't make sense either because there is a specifc setting for that, people can upload video that are not viewable outside the instance.
On NewPipe I've added framatube.org, kolektiva.media, urbanists.video, mla.moe, makertube.net, peertube.1312.media
here is my list:
- peertube@videos.trom.tf
- peertube@peertube.dk
- peertube@tube.kockatoo.org -> official KDE instance
- peertube@peertube.linuxrocks.online
- peertube@share.tube
- peertube@bee-tube.fr
- peertube@framatube.org -> official framasoft instance
- peertube@vidcommons.org -> an archive of CC content
- peertube@video.blender.org -> official blender instance
- peertube@peertube.uno -> Italian instance
- peertube@spectra.video
TILvids is a great one full of high quality Edutainment.
