Captured alive for the first time? Are they usually dead when they’re captured?

Is their secret bathroom at Mar-a-Lago with more top secret documents stolen by the Orange Asswipe?

Well, their quality of life just vastly improved

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

I suspect that if you treat them mild nicely and provide some amenities they will just quickly realize what kind of a psychological hell hole they have been living in and immediately switch sides

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 44 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes, theirs did. But their families back in North Korea? I suspect their quality of life is about to get much worse.

Only if NK knows who they are.

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I would release them after a month so they can talk up their mates.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 10 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

That's not how it works over there. It's a massive snitch state run by a mobster. Nobody talks to anyone about anything.

[–] IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world 9 points 14 hours ago

Exactly. If they’re returned they won’t be allowed anywhere near other North Korean troops. They’ll likely be returned immediately to the DPRK and sent to a labor/prison camp so they can’t talk to anybody that might listen.

I know this is a heavy situation and all, but I still found this photo funny.

Seems to be some civilian training:

Civilian women hold weapons as they take part in a military training given by a former Ukrainian serviceman (C-L) at a civic centre at an unspecified location in the Kharkiv region on September 13, 2024, amid the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

Someone needs to teach grandma how to handle that weapon.

Dude, she's just blonde, homegirl doesn't even have wrinkles yet. I'd guess she's late 20's early 30s. If that's grandma age to you, it says more about your hometown than it does about her.

Grandma? You aren’t the best at guessing ages

[–] Stalinwolf@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't know if it's just the Kalashnikov or what, but I'm kind of into this grandma.

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago

Can I quote you on that?
