I love Blue Dream. It's the perfect blend of "Holy shit I'm high" and not being couch-locked.

[–] CaptFeather@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Blue Dream is my absolute favorite. Nothing quite feels as nice as BD. Mimosa is a close second though

Another good classic. Blue dream is great.

Mine is simple: Amnesia Haze. I had a very good two grams from an Amsterdam Coffee Shop. Awesome High, i was in a completely different galaxy. Good Taste as well.

Sumo Grande. It spurs the creative side of my brain.

Green Love Potion never lets me down. That and Jack Herrer. I almost always grab these when I see them.

A new one I’m starting to enjoy is Blueberry Muffin, and I’ll be damned if that isn’t the most accurate description of how it tastes.

[–] kaklerbitmap@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Never heard of Green Love Potion before will add that to the ever growing list lol.

Jack Herrer is great, idk if it's in my Top 10 but it's definitely up there. Blueberry Muffin can be great as well - that's my buddy's favorite strain. In fact we just got back from the dispo and I got more Forbidden Fruit but they were out of the Blueberry Muffin he wanted, so he's still searching lol

Whatever's on sale at the dispensary that is more than 20% THC.

I can't even tell the difference between Indica and Sativa, let alone individual strains.

What I do notice is the difference between consumption methods. Dabs, Carts, Flower, and Edibles all hit differently. You can even take turns consuming just one way only, and it'll keep your tolerance low without having to take a single day off. Cart not hitting as hard as it used to? Smoke nothing but bud for the next two weeks. Once that stops affecting you, move on to dabs. Then edibles. Finally, go back to carts and repeat ad infinitum.

Looking at THC % is my go to way of finding what I'll get too. It's the only way I know how to search for a flower that give me what to feel. Looking for head high with giggles, look for THC%. Looking to be Velcroed to the chair, look for CBD%.

As for as I can tell it doesn't matter what strain it is, when I smoke it there's no telling how it'll feel until I feel it.

Switching around and trying different methods helps me mange my tolerance too, but I do have some dry spells in-between for my wallets sake.

Blue dream. Always delicious!

Sour Diesel.

Not the fanciest choice, but every time I get it I enjoy it.

[–] tpyoman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Same I do also enjoy the Diesel Thai varient, great high.

I had a out of body experience on Bubba Kush, one of the first few times I smoked back in the day, I'll never forget the experience of looking down at myself laughing while holding onto a friend then "snapping" into my body when I realized I wasn't in it.

I worked marijuana industry for almost a decade, I saw plenty of strains come and go and I was so high working manufacturing that all of them kind of blended together, so I'm not sure if I have a favorite but that Bubba Kush moment was one of the most memorable for sure.

Candied unicorn is my jam. Matter of fact I'm gonna vape that tonight!

[–] G_Wash1776@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Northern Lights, it was the first strain I ever smoked. The smell and taste of it is just pure heaven.

[–] kaklerbitmap@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I've still never had the original and I've been looking for a long while. I've had Oregrown's Blueberry Northern Lights live resin caviar and that's pretty high on my list of favorites.

[–] Cabrio@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I second Northern Lights. It's the perfect smoke. Tastes fresh and herbaceous with no bitterness or acridity, gives a nice light heady high that can lead to sessions of 'the gigs', low on couch lock factor so you can smoke on the go without an energy hit.

I've been smoking for 20 years and first tried Northern back in '05, it's been my favourite smoke ever since. Only found it once in the last 8 years, and now when it happens it feels like catching a glimpse of a unicorn.

Cheetah Piss is my OG favorite! First time I’ve ever cared to remember a strain 🤘gross name, best strain

[–] BURN@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Green Crack is always a solid choice for me. Smoked a lot of it in college (friends grew a ton) and it’s one of the few heavy sativas that don’t break my brain.

[–] EthicalDogMeat@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Skywalker OG. Plug hasn't had it in stock in a while sadly but it was amazing.

Your nug looks top tier as well

[–] PutangInaMo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Check out THCA flower, Skywalker OG is in stock frequently at some online shops I visit.

Dutch Treat is definitely my favorite. It is a perfect hybrid that chills me out without putting me to sleep. I have a high sensitivity to different strains, some will give me extreme anxiety (sour diesel) some will give me paranoia (bubblegum kush) and I have never done well with pure indica.

[–] kaklerbitmap@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Oh Dutch Treat is grea! A couple of my favorite producers put out Dutch Treat live resin now & again and it's got such a unique taste - it always reminds me of like honey & anise/black licorice!

This isn’t an all time favorite strain for me but I’ll never forget, in the late 90’s or maybe early 2000’s when it was just dirt weed, mids (outdoor brick weed), beasters (Canadian orange hair seedless) and headies (indoor/hydro etc) there was this fall time harvest weed that reeked like Christmas trees. Definitely outdoor but seedless and very potent pine smell and flavor. Gave you a completely different and unique high that I haven’t been able to find since. Shit was cheap, unique and only came around during the fall harvest but since bud has become more mainstream and more grey market that strain seems to have become extinct. I miss it dearly. For context I’m talking about north eastern USA and always hypothesized it was grown in the pine barrens of central New Jersey

My oldhead friend (a Vietnam vet who had been guerilla growing since the 70's) had a mythical local homegrown strain like this as well, and he had been trying to hunt it down for years. The strain he was hunting was called India Rose, and he said it grew amazingly well as an outdoor strain here in Oregon & had a unique sweet & floral taste that smoked super smooth. I keep hoping I'll find some one day and smoke some in his honor (RIP Dave)

[–] MegadethRulz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

One other tidbit that I remember is that this bud was technically considered mid grade because it was outdoor grown and a bit leggy but when you ground it up and had it in a pile, the shit would cascade down like a slow moving pile of sand because of how sappy it was if that makes any sense. It was sticky but dry and moved like that kids toy they make thats basically thick sand.

Edit: The description from this write up sounds spot on. The shit was ugly but dank af mids.

[–] MoreOrLess@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My current favorite is Blue Magoo, because it's awesome

[–] kaklerbitmap@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's been on my list of strains to try for a while now - it keeps popping up in dispos around here but so far I've only seen it on offer from producers I don't really care for. One day!

[–] MoreOrLess@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

It has a strong calming effect for me
