Not enough. Ever seen a Pure Storage quote? First question that came to mind when I saw my first one: “is that a price or a phone number?”

I’m sure this SSD will raise similar questions.

You think Pure is expensive? I’d bet Vast gives them a run for their money… um.. pardon the pun?

Oh god, even looking at their website feels expensive. I didn’t even see a picture of their appliance. At least Pure gives me that much!

The current Solidigm 30.72TB, E1.L costs around 3350€.

There is no price for the 61TB mentioned, but we can speculate. With twice the size and maybe a 10% novelty surcharge, it would be around 7400€.

  • density upcharge. I’d bet it’ll be closer to 8500-9000 USD. Probably closer to 9k.

I love seeing these massive drives, but there is no sign that this will be anythink than backbreakingly expensive.
