So when i launch steam everything else up, fire Gnome music, it will all show a application failed, then it will freez my entire system but again audio is fine. this is annoying does anyone else have this same issue?

Reminds me of an issue with Nvidia optimus. AFAIK it is a bug in the closed source Nvidia drivers ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I have a similar problem -- when I launch Steam, the whole system slows down to a crawl. But, it still recovers after a minute or so.

I have background shader processing enabled in Steam, so maybe that's what's causing this
