This is the wildest lucid edible dream I've had so far

Edit:
OH SHIT IT'S REAL! OKAMI 2πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

I wouldnβ€˜t even have minded a remake in this case, hope the sequel can do the franchise justice

I'm not sure we need a remake. The ports released in 2017/18 for windows/PS4/XboxOne/Switch work just fine and are compatible with current gen consoles.

The version Iβ€˜ve got on Steam - which is seemingly the only one - is capped at 30 fps with no way of unlocking it since thereβ€˜s game logic tied to the framerate; I assume this holds true for all versions then. The gameplay with its constant camera movement would certainly profit from a higher framerate, itβ€˜s one of maybe five games that Iβ€˜ve played where the sluggish camera made me motionsick. And generally higher resolution assets and UI wouldnβ€˜t hurt the game either. I certainly would get a remake if only so I could re-experience Okami at 120 fps without getting sick lol

One great thing about Okami is that because of its art style and direction, it ages quite well.

Christmas has come early!

I never finished the first one and have always meant to get back to it. Think I just found my motivation.

Still waiting for the first to be available on PC in Korea. It's weird. They registered it here, then never released it. No clue why not.

I've already gone through it twice on PS2 and Wii. One of my favorite games of all time.

At this point, why not sailing? They don't want to sell it to you anyway.

Well honestly, I've got enough Steam games to last me the rest of my life probably. If I ever really get the urge to play Okami again and it's still not available here, I'll explore my yo-ho-ho options. Still, I'd rather throw them the $5 the price regularly gets down to on Steam for the convenience.

Ngl I did not expect that

I'm more excited about Kamiya's comeback and the Clovers drop. Noway Capcom let him do that without plans to revive Viewtiful Joe and God Hand.

In other words, Mikami comeback when.

[–] Maultasche@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Finally, almost 15 years after the second one. Now if only they would remake that game before the new one comes out.

[–] erin@social.sidh.bzh 2 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

based on Capcom official X account it appears that this game will be a follow up of Amaterasu adventure, so it seems Kamiya is removing Okamiden from the canon

[–] Maultasche@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Ōkamiden is more of a spin-off but a nod to Chibiterasu would be cool.

Let's just hope that Rei Kondo is back for the music.
