What does "Jai Shri Ram" mean?

[–] xuxebiko@kbin.social 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Originally, it is a Hindu chant praising one of Hinduism's Gods. Violent Hindu supremacists have turned this into a call for violence, it is now a much feared war cry.. Much like 'Allahu Akbar' which means 'Allah is great' was turned by Islamic terrorists into their war cry.

So I don't know a lot about that region. What do Hindu supremacists believe (aside from the obvious supremacy part)?

[–] xuxebiko@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

They believe in

  1. using violence to terrorize anyone who disagrees with them
  2. using gangrape as a legitimate tool to terrorize women, including women journalists, into silence
  3. terrorizing Muslims and Christains and burning mosques & churches and holy books
  4. anyone opposing them is a terrorist Khalistani communist jihadi liberal naxal maoist (often, all at the sam time)
  5. dehumanizing people from oppressed communities/ castes like Dalits & Adivasis
  6. purity of cow's urine and eating cow's poop and encourage people to consume it

They don't believe in

  1. democracy
  2. peace
  3. diversity
  4. equality
  5. secularism
  6. mutual respect

So it's just fundamentalists. Let's see Iran storm and burn down India's embassies

[–] xuxebiko@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

its purely fundamentalism, and a very violent and barbaric one at that.

Iran, also a fundaentalist state, is friendly with fundamentalist India. Birds of a feather...
