No because all comments require being logged into a google account.
The platform is owned by Google. By using YouTube in any way, watching, liking, subscribing, commenting, searching, clicking, all of it, you're "using Google".
So, the answer is that you cannot use YouTube and not use Google.
If Google is broken up, that might change, but I'm not sure if that will ever happen, what form that might take or if it would ever happen at all.

i think their point is if you want to comment make a google account and comment.. or dont.
personally, it boggles the mind why anyone would want to do that.
You can use the Polycentric protocol on Grayjay, though I doubt any creators actually read it.

Judging from the last time I looked at their comment platform, it had the feeling that the only users of it were ones that were banned from Youtube because of the toxic shit they're wanting to post so I mean, I guess, but it's not the experience you're wanting, probably.
