A heartbreaking post made by a true war victim was the first post here until it was deleted because ...well, because of his dire situation. See, he let his heart speak too much and this ... against a repugnant troll.
He then said : "Please forgive my speech..." yet he was banned for a month from WorldNews.

Moderation work is certainly challenging and yet .. i would have hoped for a little more compassion for his situation, yes.

Thank you for your concern.

What part of don't send death threats to other users, no exceptions, wasn't clear in our rules or that particular moderation decision?

While they supply weapons to Ukraine.

"You can't do war! Only we're allowed to do war!"

What's lemmy.ml stance on Ukraine ?
Users should know. Will you, or other administrators, issue a statement ?

[–] AgreeableLandscape@lemmy.ml 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No official stance because why would we involve the instance itself into it? We have our personal stances, that's it.

[–] a_Ha@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

that's very good, i was just afraid of some favoritism, no one is perfect but i guess (+-) you are doing a good job.

[–] liwott@nerdica.net 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

@AgreeableLandscape @a_Ha Why would there need to be an official position of the instance? It probably shouldn't be a problem as long as the admins don't start modding out contents based on whether or not it supports their opinion

[–] kamikaze@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

except that is exactly what the admins are doing...deleting posts that don't align with their beliefs and banning the users who may have more insight into the situation

[–] AgreeableLandscape@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

We have specifically refrained from doing that that on Lemmy.ml

In fact, there is an ongoing discussion on whether actual, patently false disinformation (climate change isn't real levels of patently false) should be removed outright or if leaving them up would be more valuable because the community on Lemmy.ml has been pretty good about calling out a lot of misinformation, the argument for that being that pointing out that it's wrong could be better than hiding it.

Edit: I see you're from Lemmygrad, and I also just want to mention that it's a different instance with different goals and its own rules, so what I say doesn't apply to that site, because I'm not an admin there.

[–] kamikaze@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 2 years ago

fair enough! I think I'll be switching over to Lemmy! Thanks for being a fair mod or admin, I know its hard work

The US doesn't get tired of trying to kill itself, it seems. Good news for the global South.

Risking nuclear war is bad news for humankind.

India//Pakistan wisdom :
... thought they could never be as stupid as USA//Russia nearing nuclear conflicts in the past. But of course, they are just human.

Hope for a "new man", better human.

Risking nuclear war is bad news for humankind.

Then tell the US to stop providing guns for their proxy wars.
