I’ve noticed more issues with Google Maps the last few months - it doesn’t indicate exits properly, some exits and streets are mislabeled, it doesn’t seem as good as it used to be in general at avoiding construction or accidents. Also noticing it hangs or stops refreshing occasionally on CarPlay. They may have done an update that’s not working as it should. So I’ve started to use Apple Maps as an alternative, and it does seem better than I remembered.

There's a big advantage to being the default. People are willing to give it a try, and it's reached a point where it's accurate enough now that the rest boils down to personal preference.
I don't have an iPhone, but the one thing I've noticed with AM is that it does a much better job dictating directions ("use the second from the right lane to take the third right onto Example Street" vs "Turn right on Example Street")
I almost never navigate with sound because Android Auto is so easy to glace at, but my less tech inclined relatives / those who don't have Car Play swear by the clearer directions.
So I use mostly mapy.cz . It is for bike and trips the best option in my country. But I use paper maps a lot, it is simply better at trip planning than any modern technology.
For bikes paper maps from ShoCart are best, for hiking KČT.
