Plaintiffs accuse America Pac of several violations during its operation to support Orange county’s Michelle Steel

Elon Musk’s troubled canvassing operation on behalf of Donald Trump and the Republican party is now facing a lawsuit in southern California filed by two women who say they were cheated out of wages and expenses as they knocked on doors for an embattled Republican congresswoman.

The suit accuses Musk’s America Pac, which has poured more than $100m into this year’s election campaign, of “willful violations of the California labor code” by paying the plaintiffs less than it promised and refusing to make up the difference.

The women, Tamiko Anderson and Patricia Kelly, say they were hired last month and promised an hourly wage – about $25, according to their lead lawyer – to help turn out votes for Michelle Steel, who represents a closely contested swing district in Orange county, south of Los Angeles.

Well, if it’s anything like “FSD” or Twitter, his canvassing operation just simply won’t work

Please stop, I can only be so erect

That's all wrong. It's a labor violation, okay, but the most important part is that it is aiming to increase the voter turnout for one exact party. That should be the center of complaints

What a dipshit.

$25/hr in CA? That was a rip off from the beginning. One Fair Wage was paying $25/hr in AZ to canvas for them.

That’s about what I was making in Wisconsin to canvas as well.

I'm sure he'll just consider the fine to be part of the price of doing business.

The pac will be pennyless and defunct in a few days. Good luck getting money from it. It did his job in legalising an obscene contribution to the Trump campaign and will just be closed up.
