When Mayer arrived at Yahoo she was tasked with reviving a company that had already begun to lose its footing in the digital landscape. What went wrong was greed. They should have sold to Microsoft when it was offering them a ridiculous amount of money for a business that was already on the decline.

A few years later they sold themselves for about $5 Billion, which was only around 10%-11% of Microsofts final offer.
