It’s a really good game. Highly recommended if you have a partner or friend who likes couch coop games.

Oh yes, it's uh... an interesting experience with your significant other. Especially if you're married and have a young child.

Well deserved. My wife doesn't game but still had fun with it. This and overcooked are the only ones that have really worked for her.

I assume she's tried stardew already? If not the coop on that is great

We have, she wasn't into it. She didn't grow up gaming so she has a couple mobile time waster games and then just overcooked is the one we replay all the time...I'm worn out on overcooked but she loves it.

Oh man I can feel your frustration with over cooked then lmao I worked in group home for devopmentally disabled people and one of the residents made me play wii bowling with him every single day for years lmao

You should give PlateUp a try. Heavenly Bodies is also worth a shot but not as infinitely replayable as PlateUp

Moving Out also fits in with those.

And you only need 1 copy to play with your friend/partner! I had a blast playing this with my son!

Didn't this have denuvo or somesuch? There was a reason I chose not to buy it.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

My guess is it's because it's EA and required Origin for a while (might still, actually, even though I think it can be bought elsewhere now).

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago

Oh yeah, I don't give EA money.

Yeah, but still - the elephant.

I bought it but it kept crashing during start, so steam wouldn't register play time and wouldn't allow to review as verified to warn others. Alternative launchers 🏴‍☠️ did work and I can highly recommend the game. Just don't get it on steam if you're on Linux.

I've completed this game twice with my kids. By far the most requested game they want to play because of the coop. The subject matter might be a little deep for their age but the gameplay is stellar.

Do you mind me asking what age, I have a seven year old who is finally getting to grips with more advanced controls and I'm looking for something to play..would you reccomend for that age?

[–] sadie_sorceress@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

My kids are 5 and 7. The 7 year old is able to do most of the game on her own but there are definitely frustrating sections for her. My 5 year old isn't shy about handing the controller to me when he needs help. I think 7 is a perfect age for getting into the game mechanics but the subject matter may raise awkward questions.
