It’s probably a minor thing, but I dearly miss the Apollo feature to press on the title bar while deep in a comment thread and have it take me to the top. A second press would then return you to where you were.

Can we please have that feature in Voyager?

I use it on so many other apps that I seriously thought this was an iOS feature.

You’re correct, it is an iOS feature for native apps!

Since Voyager is a webapp though, it has to reimplement a lot of stuff to “feel” native.

Ahh. That tracks.

Thanks!

It's not quite what you're asking for, but just throwing out there in case anybody didn't notice it, butyou can tap whatever the highlighted icon is at the bottom of the screen and it returns you to the top.

This doesn’t work for me when browsing /home or /all etc.

Sometimes I want to return to the top and for some reason I expect to be able to tap the already active “Posts” icon to the very left on the bottom bar to achieve this, but it does nothing for me.

Was waiting for someone to mention this :) I keep tapping the top of the screen expecting to scroll up. Agreed this would be a great additional feature!

I literally tried it by habit, in the Voyager community right after I posted. I’m not old enough to be too set in my ways to change, right?

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I wonder if Voyager is even able to do this as a PWA.

[–] techgearwhips@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yea it’s probably not possible

Also have it show the number of upvotes and downvotes separately like Memmy does, IDK about sopuli or kbin but lemmy lets you see both instead of upvotes minus downvotes

Have you ever used GitHub? You can submit suggestions to Voyager’s GitHub, located here:

https://github.com/aeharding/voyager

I’ll see if I can put in a suggestion over there too. I’m used to r/ApolloApp and r/ApolloAppBeta being the places to interact with the dev, so while I understand using Github for version/issue/documentation tracking and updating, I think using this community for bugs and feature requests is better because it doesn’t send people to another site, and keeping people here then further builds the Voyager community.

For sure! Discussing new features within this community is a great idea - I just know the dev himself said he implements suggestions faster when they’re put in GitHub, so it may be worth adding over there eventually.

I added a suggestion for adding starts next to subcommunities to favorite them, and they were able to implement them in a few days - pretty cool!
