It once landed on a ledge above the deposit, so you only needed to drop the bombs.

I had the same last week. It was a bit further away than this clip, but high enough that we could just throw the bombs directly down on the trilodyte. The enemies didn't have time to spawn, thanks to that blessing from Karl
