I've been having issues with searching, and realized this is connected. So when I search for communities through @lemmy.world I can find them just fine. But if I use my home instance @lemmy.blahaj.zone they're missing - even though I know we're not defederated. It turns out if I make posts on other instances, those posts won't show up on my profile.

After the hack my instance changed it's token (?) Which requires logging in again to comment/post. But when I viewed my profile, my posts were there! Then when I logged in they were gone again. I don't know anything about how apps work, but something with how it retrieves instance data is messing with features.

Do you have the app setting "Show read posts" turned off? In a previous version, if this was deselected it would also hide your own posts in your profile since they were of course flagged as read.

Is this still not the case? Having that option selected still hides my posts in my profile, for me, and I just confirmed I'm on the latest stable Android version.

Sounds like it. I noted it was a previous version because I haven't checked if this has changed in the last two weeks.
