So I found out that because I signed up using lemmy.ml, when I signed up I had to use the server site as lemmy.ml followed by my own log in… just putting this here just in case someone else runs in to the same problems, if you need help let me know. Thanks again for all the help my peeps!!!
Memmy - An iOS client for Lemmy
Glad you found the answer! Another tip I picked up is to use your web browser to log into your instance, and go through your settings there. Then, go through your Memmy settings (profile -> cog icon at the top) to have them match.
I may be wrong but I think the web browser is your master settings and Memmy just overlays on top. So if something isn’t working as expected that’s a good place to look.
Further, your settings are specific per instance on the web browser, but Memmy has them broadly across all your accounts. It can get confusing = P
You just need to tell Memmy the url of the instance your account is on.
So if you have a Lemmy.world account, you put Lemmy.world as the and the username and password you use to sign I to Lemmy.world.
Memmy doesn’t run any Lemmy website. It just knows how to sign into any Lemmy instance.
I signed up on here, lemmy.ml so do I have to type that?
Exactly, the app needs the url of the website you signed up on. For you that is then Lemmy.ml.
I’m on beehaw.org, so I use that.
Did you log in using your credentials for lemmy world in memmy?
I signed up on here using lemmy.ml
