The first few times I saw "+18", I didn't even know what it meant because it was backwards and the threads weren't particularly NSFW.

Where does the 18 come from? Depending on the content and the location, "adult" would be more useful, wouldn't it?

+18 is a different thing. It means you’re only supposed to look at the post if you have 18 friends, family, neighbors, whoever present as you view it.
