I only post on lemming now

[–] lvxferre@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I don't really use Reddit any more.

[–] vert3xo@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I came here before June 15th and Lemmy seems more alive every day. I only ever used Reddit's official app but I haven't been back since the API changes took place.

I have a small userscript/style tweak to remove all input fields from reddit, so I'm still allowing myself to browse reddit in read-only mode on desktop, with no mobile access.

It's a gentle way to wean myself off. I'm still waiting for my GDPR data dump anyway, so I need to check reddit fairly regularly to be able to grab it when/if it arrives.

Now I just wish Lemmy can come up in my Google search when I search for reviews. Right now that is still Reddit's territory and no Lemmy at all. Lemmy should really improve it's SEO to not only makes using it with search engines easier, it can also help new users discover this platform.

Sucks for videos and gifs though. I don't want to click a blind link to see a gif or video

I think nobody would start a new community on Reddit, just makes sense to build something new on a Lemmy instance πŸ”°

These things do cost time and money and the security code still needs to be written in blood, but it'll be fun.

Yes. I haven't gone back to reddit in a few weeks now.

[–] Runfour@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I just have to find some of my communities here then thats it.

[–] JaCrispy@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

I'm slowly transitioning over to Lemmy with the goal of eventually ditching Reddit.

[–] schwim@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Completely switched the day before 3d party access was monetized and crippled.

I prefer Squiggy

My third eldest, Larissa, she was talking about this just last week. She is very smart, I’ll give her that, because she was the first in the family to go to university. And she passed with distinctions. So we’re all quite proud of her.

I am but I'm not sure why everyone complaint of ads but still using Reddit doesn't just use Reddit Revancec?

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago

Yes. This exactly.

Yep, there's just a couple communities stuck on Reddit that I still look at, but overall I'm around 80% Lemmy 20% Reddit now.

[–] Cyantraveller@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yes, I still have to get some info from my reddit account before deleting everything, but soon.

Yes, between here and mastodon I got enough content

[–] moridinbg@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I doomscroll only here, but I still refer (read only) to some niche communities for historical information on reddit. It’s still too small here for the small niches to have an active community. Trying to post more here too

[–] slaacaa@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yes. For me, reddit was Apollo, haven’t used it since

Deleted my comments and account and now I'm here. Though Im kinda trying to get off social media and so I'm on lemmy sparingly. Trying to be more productive with my time.
