true. but the spam filtering and future ai spam shit might be a pain
Getting your own domain doesn’t require you to host your own email. You can simply use forwarding to route your email to Gmail, Hotmail, iCloud or any other mail service that has reasonable spam filtering.
i'm so so done with online services. I researched how to host my own mail server. I already have one for the company, maybe i'll just move there, but i would like something cheaper just in case the company goes belly up some time in the future. Also i would ideally just share hosting across my devices instead of relying on a hosting provider. Imagine a new internet where everyone is hosting the stuff they need, with some help from a small network of friendly backup buddies. I feel it's gotten so invasive that we kind of have to create our own internet. Servers are a big hole in that plan, but torrents do work even if some of the seeders turn their pc off right.
Protonmail is highly trustworthy when compared to Google. While Google should go bankrupt, you and I have a better chance of dying in a car crash before Google will close its doors; much as I would like Google. to disappear completely.
Proton is not free of controversy either. Check well to be sure that you’re comfortable with them.
exactly. i'm not. that's why i was looking for ipfs, maybe with proof of replication solutions. there's only dead crypto scam solutions out there
