Thanks for the summary, I haven't heard of it. Sounds similar to kanboard, I'll check it out.
Vikunja is always so intriguing to me. Would love to set it up but the lack of apps kills it for me. Especially on the iOS side.

I currently use Microsoft Todo, aside from ethical or moral reasons what is a good reason to switch to something like this?

- you can selfhost this, so you know where your data is
- you can create lists in lists
- you can assign tasks to other people
- you can label tasks
- you can share lists
- you can create sub-tasks
