I made a simple script for everyone! It can mass block unwanted communities! ( Like NSFW )

The script is somewhat finished, but i would require your contribution of unwanted communities ( like nsfw, racist, etc... )

It can now even block an instance semi automatically!

Apologies but wouldn't it be simpler to have a userscript that filters out posts from whole instances?

[–] Rooki@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

That is somewhat correct, but the catch is the server still sends you the unwanted posts. With blocking them the server / the instance you are on is the filter you want. 1. Faster loading speed ( minimal like few milliseconds ) 2. There is not the possibility that your feed is literally empty or just 1-2 posts ( because it would be somewhat resource heavy to fix the filtered posts in the frontend without fetching like the next 2 pages. )

Only if the instances are thematic. Lemmy.world contains multitudes, some of it I want to see, and some I don’t.

Yeah for that is the script good too ;) if you have a list for example the nsfw list you can simply block them automatically.

I'm just here to show support :p
