hey

So I just joined the lemmy host, pretty cool here so far, do have some complaints like the need for NSFW & it's rules but I don't really care and love this community to wanna fight over

Anyways, I've contributed to the project in the past. Mainly with the Daz Pirate project (Pirated Daz pro with pirated essentials) & the 'Computers Offline' project (A web scrape of virtual web OS, e.g. Windows 93)

I'm very busy IRL, but I was thinking about some new projects that can improve FMHY. However I have no idea what way I can contribute, if you have any cool idea that could improve the FMHY project, let me know :)

I want to preface this by saying I'm super happy with FMHY and wouldn't mind if it doesn't change, you do a great service to the community already! :)
For improvement, it might just be me, and someone should correct me if that's the case, but I find the category structure to be difficult to understand.
If I want Windows software, cracks, or otherwise, where do I go? Movie downloads... I'd think.. Downloading?

A thought would be get rid of linux/mac and have a software category with subcategories for Windows, linux, mac.

The downloading category makes little sense, what's the point of the other categories if downloading is the only one to "download" things? Then most links under gaming, movies, and so on need to moved as sub category of Downloading too.

There are no subcatagories here like forums have. There's just the community and that's it.

Sorry, I was referring to the categories on FMHY's website.

If you have dev experience you can get in touch with us over on Divolt :) Otherwise the best way to improve FMHY is to help with the wiki. We have a #to-do channel on our server which is a great starting point.

As for project ideas specifically for FMHY, I don't have any rn. We have a billion backups and projects like Divolt and Lemmy are additive (and really made for the whole community rather than just FMHY.) But maybe some of the other folks here have some ideas.
